Pray For Boston
The Boston Marathon has always been a day of strength and celebration.
We, together, stand along the sidewalks with signs, horns, and loud encouraging shouts, motivating each runner as they head towards the finish line that seemed so far away 26.2 miles ago.
We, together, celebrate the victories, the struggles, the sweat, and the tears.
We..together.
There are no words. My heart aches. My stomach is in knots.
This feeling of emptiness, anger, pain, and sadness has consumed my mind and the mind’s of so many others, not just here in Boston, but in cities around the world.
We, together, need to find light in this darkness.
We, together, need to pray for strength and healing.
We, together, need to let love conquer all, in a world filled with so much hate.
“Boston is a tough and resilient town, so are its people. I’m supremely confident that Bostonians will pull together, take care of each other, and move forward as one proud city and as they do, the American people will be with them every single step of the way.” – President Obama
To those brave citizens who helped each and every victim involved in this terrible attack…You are a hero.
You are the light, You are the love, You are the angels.
Boston, Your My Home
Most Improved Weather and an Arm Burner
The humidity in the air has finally broke, thanks to that crazy storm we had yesterday.
I mean, I love a good thunderstorm, but I could do without golf ball sized hail and 300-500 bolts of lightning per minute, which is what we experienced North of Boston.
It was intense, and left my street flooded all afternoon.
Luckily today was a huge improvement,winning the award for;
“Most Improved Weather”.
I started my morning off with a cup of hot water with lemon before drinking my usual coffee.
We wake in a state of dehydration, so drinking water first thing is very important. It jump starts your metabolism, and helps your body prepare for the day ahead.
And this particular combination is very cleansing as well.
Breakfast was a Blueberry Muffin Cake, eaten cool from the fridge.
- 2 Tbsp Organic Coconut Flour
- 2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 2 drop liquid Stevia
- 3/4 cup Liquid All Whites
- 1/2 thinly sliced banana
- 1/3 cup blueberries
- 1/4 cup water
I had planned on an arm workout yesterday, but due to flooding and traffic jams, I switched it to today.
Slow and controlled, focus on your breathing and correct form
- Assisted Dips: 4×10
- Assisted Pull ups: 4×10
- Tricep Cable Pushdown with rope: 3×12
- Bicep Cable Curl with rope : 3×12
- Inner Bicep Curl: 3×12
- Overhead Tricep Extension: 3×12
-Ending with a 15 minute jog on the treadmill and some stretching.
Post Workout Sweet Potato Protein Boat
Sweet potato topped with Sunwarrior Protein Spread : (1 scoop Vanilla Sunwarrior Protein Powder ,cinnamon, & water added slowly)
Along with some Michael Buble on Pandora Radio
Always a thumbs up in my book.
Also, I received my scheduled date for Stonyfield Organic’s Frozen Decathlon, which will take place on 8/19-8/21.
On those days, I will remind you to vote for team PEACH MANGO, by heading over to the Frozen Decathlon Facebook Page. Once you vote, you will receive a $1.00 off coupon towards a pint of Frozen Oikos, as well as be entered to win the awesome grand prize!
Stay tuned for further instructions, and thank you supporting my team! xoxo
{WIAW} Energized, Full and Focused
So I had a bit of a late start with my INSANITY challenge, due to the fact that I couldn’t get my DVD player to cooperate, nor would my laptop.
Many curses were heard throughout the hallways of my building ![]()
However, as always, Matt fixed it and I can finally start!
I know that you are suppose to follow a diet plan and use their recommended supplements, however I’m just looking to change up my routine a bit, so I will be eating pretty much the same as I already do.
OH, by the way, this Saturday I may have the chance to actually working out WITH Shaun T!
He will be at Boston College this weekend, holding a FREE workout class for anyone who signs up via Facebook. All you have to do is RSVP on the Facebook page, bring a bottle of POWERADE ZERO, and you’re in!
All my fellow Boston Followers, I expect to see you there!
Since my DVD player and I had a fight, I used my WELCOME BACK WORKOUT to keep myself motivated, along with some delicious meals and snacks to keep me energized, full and focused.

A.K.A: Best breakfast of my life!
Fresh fruit salad with yogurt and homemade granola
Egg white omelet with spinach, onions, mushroom and tomato.
Matt ate my home fries, and I ate his French toast ![]()
Thick brioche in a light egg batter, topped with the perfect amount of marmalade cream cheese.
This is what French Toast is suppose to taste like; Melt in your mouth deliciousness!
Post breakfast, Matt and I had to shoot over to one of his jobs around the corner.
Welcome to the life of an Electrician’s Girlfriend
My Job: Wait in the work van, and don’t get towed.
Success!
Just call me the Boss.
Then it was off to Trader Joe’s for some weekly necessities, which included my raw almond butter, and Matt’s favorite Minestrone soup.
Love when my fridge is full
It’s been a successful Sunday so far, and since it’s my rest day, I’m parking it on the couch with a blanket, a movie, and cup of Hazelnut coffee with cinnamon and Stevia in the raw.
Perfection.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday ![]()
Satur-Date {Hard Rock Cafe}
Warm nights in Boston are my favorite.
Especially when there’s fireworks.
The city was packed due to college graduations, but we got lucky and found on street parking. Score!
Speaking of college, this past weekend marks 4 years since I graduated from Suffolk University.
I officially feel old.
Matt and I walked through Faneuil Hall, along the Waterfront, and through the North End before deciding where to eat. Because Sunday’s at my house are always a buffet of Italian food, we often opt for other cuisine when we dine out.
We wanted a laid back atmosphere with a good bar and lively crowd, so we ended up at Hard Rock Café before meeting my parents and some friends for a drink later in the night.
Berri Acai Vodka, soda water with lemon
Veggie Burger topped with grilled Portobello mushroom, roasted red pepper, sliced zucchini, squash, lettuce and tomato. Side of steamed broccoli
After dinner, we walked back to the North End for a drink on Ristorante Fiore’s roof deck, which is the perfect spot on a beautiful night.
Plus, it’s close to Gelateria!!
Chocolate and Coconut.
. Hangover city has become a frequent destination of mine on the weekends. I’m hating that I can’t party like I used to
You MUST remember to drink water while you drink alcohol. It makes all the difference.
I got to the gym early Sunday morning for a torturous 45 minutes on the Stair Climber, followed by my 300 Rep ABS
Post Workout Protein Oats
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup AllWhites
- 1/2 scoop chocolate Sunwarrior protein powder
- 1 Tbsp ground flax
- strawberries and blueberries.
The rest of the weekend was spent on Matt’s Harley, and if you think my 300 abs workout is bad, try riding on the back of a bike all afternoon.
Constant contraction of the abs
Love this boy
Satur-Date {Legal Harborside}
If you live in, or are visiting the Boston area, and looking for a place with great food, gorgeous views, and a lounge for after dinner drinks, then Legal Harborside is the place to go.
Located along Liberty Wharf, this 3 story venue has it all.
“You’ll find a nod to our heritage on the first floor hull, with a casual menu of seafood favorites with a twist, an oyster bar and an old-fashioned fish market. The second floor dining room offers cuisine prepared with sensible creativity for celebratory eating and private dining events. And those that visit the third floor promenade deck will enjoy a four-season rooftop lounge with a retractable glass roof and walls for cocktails and bites.”
Last night, Matt and I, along with two of our friends, dined at the bar on the first floor before heading upstairs to the rooftop lounge
Sauvignon Blanc, and my friend Beth’s Sangria, which is one of Legal’s best drinks.
Ready to eat Shrimp Cocktail in an adorable mason jar.
Seasonal salad: Romaine, Goat cheese, sliced strawberries and almonds in a light vinaigrette.
wood grilled salmon, sautéed spinach with pine nuts, jasmine rice
We also ordered Bon Bon’s for dessert, but ate them too quickly to snap a picture.
You’ve seen these chocolate covered ice cream balls before on my table during the holidays.
SO good!
After dinner, we headed upstairs for a few more drinks. I switched to my usual Vodka soda, and enjoyed the scenic view of the harbor and city lights.
It was too crowded to get a good picture, so here is one from their website.

Definitely visit Legal Harborside if you are looking for a fun night out.
This morning was off to a slow start, but I managed to get myself to the gym and fit in a workout.

Satur-Date {Legal Seafoods}
I’ll make this post short and sweet because it’s too beautiful out to be sitting inside on the computer.
And I’d rather be sitting on the back of Matt’s Harley with the wind blowing in my face ![]()
Last night, Matt and I spent our “Satur-Date” at Legal Seafoods in Boston’s Long Wharf, and the weather was perfect for a stroll through the city.
Per usual, we headed straight to the bar and ordered a Citron Vodka Soda and a Bud Light bottle.
After chatting with the Bartender and some other eaters, we both knew exactly what we wanted to order for our appetizer.
The Legal Experience
Blackened raw tuna sashimi with seaweed and ginger, Jumbo shrimp cocktail, Crab cakes, and Steamed seafood wontons.
Though this dish was almost $30, it was definitely money well spent.
Along with another round of drinks, we each ordered the Grilled Cajun salmon from the “make your own entrée” menu. As sides, I opted for brown rice and green beans, while Matt chose a baked potato and jalapeno cheddar polenta, which tasted just like Queso dip.
Delicious!
But the best part of the entire meal was dessert.
If you are a chocoholic like me, you would fall off your chair after one bite of this rich and decadent “Warm Chocolate Pudding Cake”, served with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and a subtle coconut cookie.
The combination of warm chocolate, cool and creamy ice cream, and a crumbly coconut cookie was out of this world.
Matt and I didn’t speak the entire time we shared this heavenly dessert. We even considered ordering another, but then realized that our tropical vacation is less than a week away, so it was best to stop after one plate.
BUT PLEASE ORDER THIS THE NEXT TIME YOU GO!
There is nothing wrong with bonding over a delicious a dessert every once in awhile
While Matt was at work this morning, I tackled this workout and followed it up with an ice cold green smoothie.
- 1 scoop chocolate Sunwarrior
- 1 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 6 frozen strawberries,
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup frozen spinach
- water and ice
Tastes so good on a warm day ![]()
Now get outside and enjoy yourselves! xoxo
