About Jenna

Welcome to A Fit Girl’s Martini!

Here, we celebrate all things Health and Fitness..with a Twist.

My name is Jenna and I am a Fitness Instructor from Boston with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. My plan was to become an event planner, making tons of money working in cities such as LA, New York and Miami.

Dream big.

However, I had later come to realize that my passion for making a difference in people’s
lives was not in the P.R world, but rather in the Health and Fitness field, something that had always been a huge part of my life.

As a result, I became an NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Women’s Fitness Specialist, and a Mad Dogg Spinning/Group Fitness Instructor for classes such as Tabata, PiYo, Piloxing and Strength&Conditioning..just to name a few.

I figure the more we know the better, and I want to know something about everything.

I promote a balanced lifestyle, incorporating everything from fitness and a healthy diet, to treating yourself to your favorite desserts and weekend cocktails with friends.

Because what’s life without chocolate and wine?

  1. Girl you are GORGEOUS!! Your dog is adorable, I have never heard of one with an underbite before! Slash I am so glad you are with your best friend, I can’t wait to find my man someday!

    • Thank you so much! All puggles look a little different, I think her underbite gives her some charecter lol. Thanks for checking out my blog, I’m sure you will meet the man of your dreams very soon!

  2. I LOVE your outlook…and not gonna lie, am jealous you went from thinking you were going into PR/event planning and switched to fitness. I always wish I did that but fear that making such a ginormous change now (9 years into my PR career), that I’d be taking major steps backwards. I’m loving your blog so far…and that you’re from Boston, too!

    • Thanks so much! You have so many useful tips in regards to food and fitness. You should definitely think about doing something part time in the fitness field, I bet you would find it very rewarding.

  3. I love how you followed your heart and did what you love to do. So many people unhappy with their careers. I’m definitely with you on doing groceries. I’m 22 years old and find more fun grocery shopping than finding clothes. My friends would think I’m completely crazy! Love your blog, you are gorgeous girl! :D

  4. Ah! I have to comment… I just came across your blog (not even sure how i found it!) and I am LOVING it!!!! I am an ’08 grad as well, and am in the health and wellness field (currently in grad school for my MPH!). I feel like we have so much in common! I also have a new puppy that I am pretty much obsessed with.. I always joke that she’s my baby girl. Haaa.

    • Love that name! Jack russell’s are adorable, and trust me I love to eat as well.
Go after whatever it is that makes you happy and have fun in the process! Thank you for your kind words :)

  6. Jenna, your blog is unbelievable! I have worked with you for 3, going on 4 months now and it’s easy for me to see how intelligent and passionate you are about fitness in person, and what i think is just as important is that you show this in your blog as well. There is no doubt in my mind whether or not you get your studio, the only question is when. You’re going to do absolutely awesome when you get your studio and i know this because you’re an absolutely awesome, and amazing woman as well who truly is an inspiration. Oh yea i’m looking forward to you kicking my butt in our next abs workout. See ya at work tomorrow!

    Eric

  7. I love your site!! I can definitely relate to your journey. My degree is in Political Science and Communications and later became a personal development coach and certified fitness trainer. Your articles are wonderful and it looks like you’re really enjoying what you do. Thanks for sharing your info/tips with us!

    Best,
    Bree

  8. I just came across your blog and you are beautiful and inspiring! It means so much to me to read about those who have found happiness in health and I am moving quickly towards that! Blog on, I’ll be following you!!

  9. Hey Jenna, you do look like a personal trainer! I mean that, because I know a few personal trainers and I couldn’t tell they were personal trainers by looking at them if you know what I mean. :0) Anyway, you look great, and I’m look for people that are well organized and looking to do event planning and into health, because…well, you’ll have to look over my Snackhealthy Brand Partner website for the rest of the story Jenna. :) If you have any questions or can send me a referral or two, that would be highly appreciated! Thanks! HF

  10. Your website is great! I actually know your cousin Natasha and we were at the same house warming party tonight. I have a 15 month old and Natasha and I started talking about fitness and health after a baby and how hard it is. She told me about you and your blog and I’m hoping this inspires me to get to a happy and healthy place with my body. Do you have a post natal diet you recommend or any tips? Thank you for already inspiring me, looks like you made a great choice in your career switch ;)

    • Oh wow! Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog and I’m so glad that you’ve found inspiration in my words. Natasha is awesome, so sweet :).

I can definitely send you some information and things to help you get started. I can email them to you this week.

It can be tough to find time and commitment to exercise when you have kids, so finding what works for you is whats most important.

      I’ll be touch!!

  11. Hi Jenna! Found your blog through WIAW. It’s so funny because I, too, majored in PR and minored in Italian. Now, I am in the process of getting NASM certified as well! I also have a puggle! How wild, right? Anyway- keep up the good work! I’ll be subscribing! :)

  12. I just stumbled across your blog and I am so happy I did! How inspiring and your method of healthy eating seems like it fits into everyday/busy life. Any easy dinner recipes you recommend?

    • Aw, thank you :)

I try to keep my diet as flexiable as possible, including everything from healthy, to the occasional treat. Why deprive ourselves of chocolate? I could NEVER!

As far as dinner goes, I usually always have a “kitchen sink salad”, which is just a bunch of veggies (raw, roasted, steamed…etc) atop a bed of greens with baked/grilled chicken, can of low sodium albacore tuna, or other lean source of protein, and a carb such as a steamed sweet potato, or 1/2 cup of brown rice. Dressing is usually Balsamic Vinegar with EVOO or taboule mixed in.
      Quick, simple and delicious!

Check out my post on “How to Build A Satisfying Salad” on my V.I.P page!

  13. Love the blog! Totally agree that while fitness and health are fabulous they must be offset with a little chocolate and wine, a girl after my own heart : )
