HalloWeekend!!

For most of us, this weekend will consist of sugar, sodium, alcohol and empty calories.  But don’t fret!

Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind.

Set a drink limit: Try for no more than 2 alcoholic drinks throughout the night. Drink slowly and enjoy it. Mix with soda water, lemon/ lime juice or a splash of fresh fruit juice. Also, make sure to have a bottle of water available at all times to prevent dehydration and a morning hangover.

Add some color to the table: You know how addicting the chip bowl can be, so if you are attending a party, don’t be afraid to bring a vegetable or fruit platter as a healthier option. People WILL eat it, guaranteed!

Don’t arrive hungry: Have a snack before you head out for the night. A bowl of vegetable soup, a small tuna sandwich, vegetable omelet or Greek yogurt with an apple will help you from feeling ravenous when you spot the snack table.

Use smaller plates: You’ve heard this a thousand times, but it’s true! Instead of piling a large plate with every option available, choose a smaller plate to help stay in control. Or, share a large plate with a friend and have a taste of everything. But make good choices! Don’t just eat it because it’s there.

That veggie platter will come in handy to help curb your appetite throughout the night.

Most importantly….

Have a safe and happy HalloWeekend!!
